Amidst all the tensions and ups and downs of life, we often forget the importance of a simple smile. If someone would ask me to define a smile, I would put it up something like this: A smile is a beautiful expression of hope and happiness on a person’s face that is magical to watch. When a person smiles with all their heart, it shows in their smile, in their eyes, that directly reflects the contentment they must be feeling.
When your friend does something thoughtful for you on your birthday, your smile beautifully conveys your happiness and thankfulness.
When a daughter offers to do the dishes for her mother, so that she could rest, the mother’s smile shows how happy she is that her daughter cares for her.
When a boy expresses his love for his beloved out of the blue, her smile shows how lucky she feels to have him.
When a person offers a candy bar to a poor kid on the street, his smile shows the joy he is feeling after owning that tasty candy bar that he always wanted to have.
When you hold the door on the subway for an elderly person, their smile shows how happy they are to see your humanity and kindness.
When you help out a Grandma (who cannot read/write) at the bank in filling out a form for money withdrawal, their smile and their blessings show how much she appreciates you.
A small smile, regardless from whosoever it comes from, it goes a long way. A smile a wonderful expression of happiness that can even lift someone who was constantly being pulled down. There is a magic in every smile. A pinch of hope and warmth. Feel it. Try and be the reason for it. There is no greater feeling in this world than to make someone smile and know that you are the reason behind it.
Never lose that smile. 🙂
